Topic
We are pleased to highlight Prof. Eiji Miyauchi from Gunma University in Tokyo, who will discuss the relationship between autoimmune diseases and the microbiome with a talk entitled 'Autoimmune Diseases & Microbiome: Preventive and Therapeutic Approach'.
Summary
Autoimmune diseases are increasingly associated with gut microbiota imbalances that affect immune function and inflammation. This talk will discuss the role of gut microbiota in autoimmunity and potential microbiome-targeted interventions for prevention and treatment
About Prof. Miyauchi
Eiji Miyauchi is Associate Professor at Gunma University, Japan. His research focuses on how the gut microbiota shapes host immunity and influences the risk and progression of autoimmune diseases. He has demonstrated that specific gut bacteria can modulate T cell responses, providing insights into microbiota-based preventive and therapeutic strategies. He is also exploring the factors that induce dysbiosis and elucidating the mechanisms by which they increase susceptibility to type 1 diabetes.
