The International Society of Microbiota is honored to announce that Professor Erwin Zoetendal, Professor at the Laboratory of Microbiology, Wageningen University (The Netherlands), will join Targeting Microbiota 2025 as a keynote speaker.His talk, entitled: “Gut Microbiota, Health and Diet: How to Move from Correlations to Causality and Mechanistic Understanding?”
Dr. Zoetendal will address a major challenge in the field of microbiome research: distinguishing correlation from causation.In this anticipated keynote, Dr. Zoetendal will share strategic insights into how to move beyond observational studies and explore the causal links between diet, gut microbiota, and human health. This keynote promises to be a cornerstone for microbiome scientists aiming to translate complex microbial data into actionable knowledge for precision nutrition and targeted therapies.
