The 2nd edition of skin microbiota symposium concluded with success
The second edition of Skin Microbiota Symposium held at the Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris on June 15, 2017.
During this symposium, many hot topics were discussed and high international speakers presented their recent scientific data. The symposium was introduced by Dr Marvin Edeas from the Université Paris Descartes, Hôpital Cochin, Paris and was divided in four sessions:
- Skin Microbiota 2017: Recent Advances & Perspectives
- Skin Microbiota 2017 – Practical Issues
- Human Skin Microbiota & Skin Pathologies
- Presentation of academic and industrial innovations
The presentations were very carefully selected and provided a good overview about state-of-the-art topics and new products in the field of skin microbiota research. The meeting was also an excellent opportunity for networking with 65 attendees coming from international universities and industries.
As concluding remarks, more research is needed, in particular about metabolites which can be used as therapeutics or in skin care products.
